last night's shows

just a workin' girl
Okay, so I flipped back and forth between Lost and Veronica Mars. It worked for a while, 'cause Lost would be on commercial while VM was on, and vice versa. Then all of a sudden, both shows were on commercial at once. NOT COOL. So I missed parts of both shows. Am bittorrenting VM now, and will probably do Lost later.

Will do a semi-review of both shows, but first, let me comment on the weather here. It's cold! I'm sitting here in sweatpants and a t-shirt and a huge sweatshirt. Weather.com says it's 54 degrees. That's too cold, man. I know I said I like the cooler weather, but they haven't turned the heat on in the apartment yet! Grumble grumble.

Oh, and the 3 amaretto-sprites that I had last night totally put me right to sleep at 1AM. :-) And then I woke up at 10. A decent 9 hours of sleep. I feel like a human today. And no, I didn't feel human yesterday - I felt like a slightly nutty zombie. But I have returned to normal, just in time for... uh, my one class left this week. Great. LIKE THAT DOES ME ANY GOOD.

Okay, so Michael's backstories really don't interest me much. I do like how Sawyer kept calling him "Mike." It's like how on Alias, Weiss was the only one to call Vaughn "Mike"... and that was only sometimes. Aaanyways. And then there was a shark! Eep. And Sawyer digging into his own arm to pull out the bullet? Sick. Did he actually ever get it out? And the whole time, I was sitting there going, "and where the hell is Jin?" If he didn't make it, my heart would have broken for Sun.

But oh! In the flashback, Michael buys little Walt a polar bear stuffed animal. Freaky much.

Then we didn't really go any further in the hatch. It just rehashed what we missed last week. We learned where Kate was. If I do bittorrent this episode, it'll just be to watch Kate watching Jack ask repeated, "where's Kate?" 'Cause I missed that part, and apparently it happened, and it's likely to give me warm fuzzies. Those two. They've got the whole season 1 Sydney/Vaughn thing going.

I must say, when Desmond asked, "are you him?", I started laughing when Locke said "yes"... you almost couldn't tell that Locke had no clue who "him" was. (Sidenote: Who the hell IS "him"?) And I'm sure he had this whole plan in his head when he told Desmond to tie Kate up. Possibly because she's smaller and can fit in air ducts and stuff and make less noise. Of course, he just assumes Kate will telepathically get this plan, as well. Which she did, so all was hunky-dory. Unless I missed something. Which I probably did.

And then dear Desmond told Locke to type in the numbers on the computer! THE numbers. And they add up to 108? But why? And why? And... and... WHY? Arg. This show and it's questions.

The end was great... with Jin yelling "others!" but not in a happy tone. But I was very happy to see him. Good to know he wasn't eaten by that shark. Missed the preview for next week's ep.

Okay, I was totally right. Logan was at the door. Ha! And he was all bloody and stuff, and then Veronica told him about his dad, except he already knew. Except at first, we couldn't tell who it was, and I'm thinking she was hoping it was Duncan. No. It would have only made sense that it would be Logan. And then there was Leo at the door later, and he's all tender and nice to Veronica and touches the bruise on her cheek. But he doesn't ask what happened, 'cause I figure he already knew, being a deputy and all. I hope we keep seeing Leo. Not because I want him back with Veronica, just because Leo is nice.

The backstory seemed to go by too quickly though. I mean, she was dating Logan. She was seeing Duncan every day in the cafe where she works (can we say "awww", with a side of slightly stalkerish?). Logan, Dick, and Beaver/Cassidy (who I actually like and think could be a good guy, it's just that he's a total pushover) most likely set the community pool on fire. Which is totally not cool and I'd like Logan to become normal again. I saw most of the Veronica/Logan breakup scene, with Keith barging in and telling him never to talk to Veronica again. Very nice of Keith, but probably not necessary, 'cause I don't think Logan would have laid a finger on Veronica. But man... Keith just does NOT like Logan, which doesn't bode well for any future LoVe.

I love Duncan. I think it's his blue eyes. So I'm not all icked out about having to deal with him and Veronica, possibly for the whole season. At least, not yet. He asked her out in a fortune cookie on her birthday, I mean... how sweet. I do wish she wouldn't hang all over his arm though... totally not necessary. However, eventually they will break up, because it can't be happily ever after, and when they do, I think that will be the end of it. Because they never really got any closure after their first break up. And they need to deal with the fact that they're not the same people they used to be, so they can't have the relationship they once had, and it will be, in time, time to move on.

So I would say more but it's time for me to head out to the soup kitchen. Will continue to review and comment on VM later.

logan would be perfect if he was just HOT. and not ugly, chipmunkey Jason Dohrin. I know lots of people think he's hot (what???) and disagree with me but if Logan had Duncan's better looks, all would be good b/c it's obvious Veronica is going to end up with Logan later.
